DÉFINITION
  • A type of damask, or a modified lampas made with a twill ground and brocaded filling figures. It employs a single colour cotton warp and several colours of silk filling. That is, one or more weft threads, working together, form the ground and pattern motifs. Those motifs are formed by floats bound in weave in which the ends interlace in groups of two or three.
