DEFINICIÓN
- n. A borrowing from the Latin "sēricum" within an English suffix "-in". It is the gummy or gelatinous substance, consisting in a mixture of proteins, deposited on the outside of the silk filament by the silkworm, that is, it binds the central filaments of raw silk. It constitutes about 25 per cent of the bave.
