DEFINICIÓN
  • n. The term refers to its origin, Aleppo, from the 16th century. Originally in black colour (after in all colours), it is a fine and twilled cloth with soft-spun silk warp and fine, worsted filling. It is made up from a mixture of wool and silk or mohair and cotton. When used as a countable noun, it refers to a piece of this fabric. The term has other uses as a fabric made in England in the 18th century or a French fabric with silk and cotton.
