DEFINITION
- n. From the ancient city of Batavia, nowadays Jakarta (Indonesia). A silk fabric made up from raw and other type of silk. In French it is a four-harness two up, two down twill. In Britain it is a light silk fabric consisting of a four-harness twill. Ii also could be a light cotton fabric used for summer hats.
