  • n. From the French, and it means big, large, bulky, thick, coarse. By the term gros it is known a kind of precise cannelé with two picks in each shed. It describes a variety of cross-ribbed fabrics. Normally it is a term applied to thick and heavy fabrics. They usually get the name from the place they are from.
