DEFINITION
- n. From the Old English "coren" "corona" "coruna" and Middle English "corown" "corowne" "corun" among others. An ornament for the head, usually made of or decorated with precious metals and jewels, worn by a monarch (or a queen consort) as a mark or symbol of sovereignty.
