Weft-pile weave
DEFINITION
- A type of weave in which a pile is produced by floats of a supplementary weft added to the ground weave. Those floats are cut after the weaving to form the pile. Weft loop weave, velveteen, corduroy, etc are terms sometimes used for some of these constructions.
